Haiti Education Foundation Update

August 30, 2010

Progress is being made in the mountains of southern Haiti!
In the first photo, a celebration took place at St. Joseph d' Arimathee School in Pillard. This school was completely demolished by the earthquake. The people of the village got together and removed the rubble in preparation for a new school building. This is a temporary school structure located next to the church. Students will be back in class on time this fall.
In the second photo, villagers in Cherident are working to remove the remains of the Guest House. The dump truck, which was purchased a number of years ago, is a great help in this process. The building is being fabricated in Arkansas and mission teams will be trained in construction of the metal building which will be the replacement. The people are very excited about the progress and look forward to the rebuilding of the Guest house and School!

Just as schools are about to be back in session here in the US, so are the schools in Haiti. The children are all very excited! Please remember to support them by giving a scholarship. $55 per year will send a child to school! This gift is life changing and brings HOPE to the future of Haiti!

I also want to encourage you to attend our 2nd HUG (Haiti United Gathering) Conference. It will be held September 17 - 19 in Little Rock, AR at the Ferncliff Camp and Convention Center. You can register online here on our Haiti website. If you have any questions, please call us at 870-862-1252. Pere Desire, priest in charge of St. Matthias Parish, Pere Vil, priest in charge of Ascension Parish and our good friend Ancy will all be in attendance. We will have sessions on the rebuilding of the schools, scholarships, Haiti Healthcare Partnership, Living Waters and Solar Under the Sun. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the foundation and ways to help!

We have much to be thankful for! There are many opportunities to be a part of this group which is impacting God's children in Haiti! Please join us as we work to bring HOPE to these people. Together, we are making a difference!
