The Haiti Education Foundation, Inc., is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization
dedicated to providing an education and a daily, nourishing meal to children in the mountains of
southern Haiti's St. Matthias Parish. HEF has established an avenue for giving
where 100% of each contribution goes to the need designated by the donor. Our objective is to help Haitians
help themselves. |
Our primary focus is on obtaining a $55 annual scholarship for each of the
nearly 13,000 students attending Haiti Education Foundation supported schools. We also try to meet these
educational and community needs:
| School uniforms |
$7 each |
| Shoes |
$10 per pair |
| School textbooks |
$5 each |
| Creole Bibles |
$4 each |
| Milk for one school year
(K-2nd grade) |
$10 per child |
| Goats (to supply milk for families) |
$20 each |
| Construction of school classrooms |
$2000 per classroom |
| Construction of school kitchens |
$3000 per kitchen |
| Vocational school scholarships |
$120 per student per year |
| University scholarships |
$2000 per student per year |
| Additional needs are listed on the
More Ways to Help page. |
|
| We are supported by many individuals and churches across the United
States. Grants account for approximately 10% of total annual receipts. It is by the grace of God and
the generosity of our donors that we succeed in educating so many Haitian children. Just as all
who have donated to the Haiti Education Foundation over the past 23 years have blessed the youth of
Haiti, now we are seeing the youth of Haiti bless Haiti's future. |
