Small, faithful gifts carry more than large, occasional ones

Founder Frances Landers believed something simple: small, consistent gifts from many donors carry more power than large, occasional gifts from a few. That conviction has sustained Haiti Education Foundation (HEF) for more than three decades, and today it keeps teachers paid and classrooms open across 34 schools.

Haiti Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3). Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law, and 100% of every designated gift reaches Haiti.

Sponsor a School

Fifteen of our thirty-four schools are still waiting for a sponsor to keep their doors open for a full year. Your church or family can be the answer for one community.

General Scholarship Fund

Not every donor is ready to commit to a whole school, and that’s alright. Many churches give around $5,000 a year to this fund, which pays teacher salaries directly at schools still waiting for a sponsor.

Père Albert Scholarship Fund

A fund named for the priest who has spent his life opening doors in these mountains. Your gift funds a specific young man or woman studying nursing, medicine, engineering, agriculture, business, education, or a skilled trade.

Every gift designated as Construction matched up to $400,000.

Through December 10, 2026, all donations designated as Construction will be matched up to $400,000. These funds will be used to:

  • Rebuild St. Barnabé School
  • Roof repairs
  • Build additional classrooms
  • Replace solar panels
  • Provide desks and benches at our schools
